Framing art can be costly! When I was in college this didn’t seem to register. I had all the tools that I needed to use free of charge (minus tuition) and all I had to do was purchase my materials. Buying large pieces of wood and using the table saw I was able to frame a lot of my canvases. I was able to use the nail gun and there was even paint that everyone shared. I had to buy very little out of pocket.

As I sit here and realize it has been waaaaaaay too long since I last posted (seriously, I basically forgot about all of this, sorry), I am bouncing around ideas for new projects. Of course, I could draw up another super hero or sci-fi character, and don’t worry, I still will. But shuffling some boxes around my classroom the other day, I came across a box of old slides that I told myself years ago that I would do something with, yet here they are, still in the box.

One of the best parts about doing conventions is getting to know the other artists. I love the community and just how wonderful and helpful everyone is! One of my favorite conventions to not only vend at but to bring my family to is Pretzcon. This is a family run conventions all about bringing people together over board games. This convention is also where I got to meet Andy Goergen from 8-bit Acrylic. His artwork brings back my childhood! Whenever I see him at a convention he is working on something and I love to watch his pieces come together! What follows is our Q&A:
For the past few years, Heather and I have been setting up and displaying our art at various shows, conventions, and vendor fairs. Some shows have been more successful than others (based on sales, price per table, etc.), but all of them have been pretty fun. In fact, we have met some pretty amazing people along the way (and not just the celebrity guests).
