I recently had the opportunity to test out Asani paint pens. I had high hopes for these paint pens and for the most part they lived up to those hopes. An Interview with Andy of 8-bit Acrylic
One of the best parts about doing conventions is getting to know the other artists. I love the community and just how wonderful and helpful everyone is! One of my favorite conventions to not only vend at but to bring my family to is Pretzcon. This is a family run conventions all about bringing people together over board games. This convention is also where I got to meet Andy Goergen from 8-bit Acrylic. His artwork brings back my childhood! Whenever I see him at a convention he is working on something and I love to watch his pieces come together! What follows is our Q&A:

“Inspiration is for amateurs, the rest of us just show up and get to work.”
The above quote is from one of my favorite artists of all time, let alone still living. But this article isn’t a recap of Close’s life (though that would be a fun article to research and write). The quote was merely a jumping off point.
Prepping for the Con Cycle
For the past few years, Heather and I have been setting up and displaying our art at various shows, conventions, and vendor fairs. Some shows have been more successful than others (based on sales, price per table, etc.), but all of them have been pretty fun. In fact, we have met some pretty amazing people along the way (and not just the celebrity guests).
